Ancient Avernalan Elvish
Theoretical language spoken by original elvish immigrants to Avernalis. No known records exist of this language, and its existence is postulated by similarities between all of the Avernalan Group of Elvish languages.
_Transitional language from Ancient Avernalan Elvish to Old Shi’enerathun. Spoken in Shi’enerath from circa 5200 B.A. until circa 4800 B.A.
First distinct and identifiable language of the elves of Shi’enerath. Spoken from circa 4800 B.A. until 4100 B.A.
Original language of the Essendethri elves. Arose as a distinct language around 5000 B.A. and spoken until around 1200 B.A.
Primary Grung’eth (Old Arssi’erun)
Original language of the Grung’eth elves of the Arssi’eri forest. Arose as a distinct language around 5000 B.A., and was spoken until approximately 2800 B.A.
Secondary Grung’eth (Middle Arssi’erun)
Second distinct language of the Grungi’eth elves of the Arssi’eri forest. Arose as a distinct language around 2800 B.A. and spoken until around 1800 B.A., when it was supplanted by Contemporary Gruni’eth.
Current language of the Essendethri elves. Has been spoken since approximately 1200 B.A.
Contemporary Grung’eth (Modern Arssi’erun)
Current language spoken by the Grung’eth elves of the Arssi’eri forest. Shows influences from Hreshi faerie, likely as a result of immitation of the speech of the Regucwuainaeth. Spoken from around 1800 B.A.
The courtly language of the Shi’enerath forest. Only generally spoken by the aristocracy. Very old language, having arisen around 4100 B.A.
The language of the common elves of the Shi’enerath forest. Some form of it has been spoken since 4100 B.A., though it has likely evolved over time. As most records are compiled and preserved in Regal Shi’enerathun, no reliable sources remain for study of the evolution of this language. Never spoken by the aristocracy.
The language of the elves of the Orfannis forest. Shares some features of Low Shi’enerathun. Originates as a distinct language some time after the founding of Orfannis.
